What we collect
When you use the contact form we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number (if given), the type of matter and your message.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We do not use advertising trackers on this site.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and whether the contact form or phone number is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser. It does not receive what you type into the contact form. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your browser stores how you first reached our site (for example a search engine, an ad or another website, and the page you landed on). If you send an inquiry, this is included with it so we know how clients find us.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule a consultation.
- To check for conflicts of interest before agreeing to represent you.
- To keep the website secure and working.
Confidentiality and the attorney-client relationship
We treat the information you send us as confidential. However, sending a message through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential details or documents until we have confirmed that we can represent you.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and deliver email (for example, our hosting, email and analytics providers), when required by law, or with your permission.
Retention and your choices
We keep inquiries for as long as needed to respond and to meet our professional obligations. You may ask us to access, correct or delete the information you sent by emailing david@wecloseny.com.
